How to install NEA-15 Quad Rail

WEll I got my first AR an NEA-15 12.5 right from NEA, although they shipped it with the wrong rail (9") I heard they had great customer service, and sure enough they sent me the rail and I get the keep the other one...and it's the new style rail . Anyways Im not sure how to go about installing this rail...is a gun smith needed...there are 4 screws...but they dont seem to fit any hex keys I have so they're obviously not hex screws.....any ideas? Or is this a gun smith issue?

Are they Torx screws?

They are hex for sure, do you have a Metric set or an SAE set?

Stupid question, but did you use metric or SAE hex keys (or both)???

I have both metric and SAE...thats where Im getting confused...unless its a half sized ..if that exists

Then you're missing one, I had the exact same forend and I had a hex key that worked just fine.... I can't remember if it was SAE or Metric though...

Nope, just the 4 hex screws and it comes right off. Providing you haven't added a larger diameter muzzle suppression device.

I saw the new rail on an NEA-15 at Urban Tactical this morning...Big improvement from their original design IMO.

It does look pretty sweet....it must be an odd sizze allen key...maybe 7/64 or ...maybe it metric I dont know :?

got it off.9/64 allen key...now apparently the new quad rail has a different shaped barrel nut ...guess I may need to go to a smith...or is there an easy way to get that off?...can I destroy my rifle if I take the nut off and dont install the new one properly....eke!

You need a barrel nut wrench to remove a standard barrel nut. You need a torque wrench to install a new barrel nut at the proper specifications.
