Hi all,
I have a rifle that came with a set of, I believe, 1" Warne Premier screw-detachable rings. These rings are vertically-spit and are similar to the bottom rings in this picture, except that the clamp uses screws instead of a lever:
There are two screws that tighten the two halves together at the bottom and a single screw for the top. Two additional screws tighten the clamp. This means that the rings can be fully-tightened to the scope and by loosening the clamp screws, the scope can be removed and re-installed without loosening the rings themselves.
When installing these rings, should there be a consistent gap top and bottom, or should the bottom of the halves be touching and a gap left only at the top?
Unfortunately, I don't have instructions for the rings, so any help is appreciated. I imagine that 10-15 in-lbs would also be the appropriate torque for all screws?
