How to keep warm in December

About 20 years ago ,after reading an article in an outdoor magazine , I fashioned a stove out of an empty 1 lb. coffee tin can . After punching/cutting holes around the outside bottom and pushing in the resulting triangles so that they formed a support for the tin lid which was also perforated with many holes, I had a sweet little stove that when supplied with about 8 to 12 charcoal briquettes would last about 4-5 hours .
I would sit on a folding stool, lean against a tree and cover my lap with a wool blanket, with the stove on the ground between my legs.
It worked so well that later I fashioned a small TeePee that would just barely come up to my neck while sitting on a small fold up stool. I cut the TP out of mill felt which was wind proof and held the heat very well .
The front would instantly unclip so that I could grab my rifle leaning on an outside tripod..
If my head got too cold I could turtle it into the tent.....as long as I didn't breathe ...
The charcoal briquette fumes seemed to kill any human odour also .
I shot a nice 12-pointer(not big)from this rig during -30C and windy weather...near the end of the season .
