Having been in the military and having spent hundreds of hours on the parade square I found that clip very impressive. An exceptionally difficult move didn't work out (like many times during practice), yet everyone maintained they poise and they improvised.

Doughy keyboard commandos would find it amusing though.........

Consider that there is a video camera filming almost everything nowadays, especially a rifle drill like that and they are bound to drop them once in a while.

Try twirling a 10+ lb battle rifle and see how that works for you.

I thought he kept decorum very well for the situation.

In fact, if I had been their CO, afterwards I would have said something like:

"Well done Marines. We can spend hundreds of hours training and then in battle when we need it most, things don't go as expected. You demonstrated that you can remain cool under fire and carry on with your duties".
