Trying to find out how to mount a scope on this rifle.
Already has two drilled holes on the side if the receiver above the mag as you can see in the pictures.

Any help or advice would appreciated.

thanks

I have the Weaver T0-1 Mount on mine, involves drilling 3 or 4 holes. The problem is it only takes the weaver .22 tip off mounts. Although, I have not had any issues with mine. It cost around $35 for the base, plus another $40 for the rings. The smith that did mine put a screw in front on the rear ring to prevent re-coil from forcing the rings forward on the base.

Ditto. I had to go with Millet rings to stop the rings from moving.

You need a side mount as somebody has already tried to drill the receiver. You should be able to save one of the holes. Parker Hale side mounts are tough to come by....I'd plug the damaged holes. You could go with a Parker Hale top rail however you need to drill and tap the rifle. Good looking rifle...desires a scope. I've got a PH rail for this however no rings. PM if interested.

I used a Scout type mount made by Advanced Industries. It slips over the barrel, butting against the receiver, then the cavity between the barrel and the mount is filled with epoxy. No drilling or tapping required!
It seems to be fine, but have only about 30 rounds on it, so the question of durability remains.

S&K is the best i have seen and it requires no new holes...not cheap though. I have the T0-1 as well, it works but is not robust...

Sorry, accidently removed the pictures. Here they are again.

Spoke to local gunsmith. Said two new holes would be the easiest solution if I didn't mind the rifle being drilled.
For $100 he said I could get the rifle drilled/tapped, a base and rings. This sounds like an OK deal to me. What do you think?

Also, what do people think is a good scope to pair up with this rifle. Thinking something mid-price range thats good out to 200-300 yards. Hoping to use the rifle for hunting at some point. Whats the opinion on using this rifle as a hunting rifle?

thanks again for all your help.
