How to paint my Stevens 200?

I would rather not spend more money on paint, I have two cans of Arma-Coat left over, one is OD Green and the other is Coyote Brown. I plan on using this rifle for coyote hunting and possibly deer hunting. I realize something a little lighter coloured might be better for coyote hunting in the winter, but I also just want to change it up from the ugly blue/grey stock that comes with the rifle..

So my question is what camo patterns would you guys suggest? Or maybe a solid coyote brown stock with OD green barrel?? So many options!

I don't have an example of the OD green, still havent used it but here is what the coyote brown looks like on my P226...

Super easy to paint it digi. Get stickyback paper, and measure out a graph paper pattern on it. make shapes that look bad ass or copy shapes off digi camo off the internet. paint the gun one solid color. lay down some shapes. paint it a different color, repeat for as many colors as you like. Just think at the start for a bit about what you want to end up with and you are good to go! clear coat once done. oh also plastic primer the stevens first for best results.

Before anyone says anything to the contrary, the process goes way smoother if you have a sink full of dirty dishes and a light sprinkling of dirty laundry on the floor as indicated by the last picture. :)
 
That is Kool! I was looking at painting my presion rifle but thought it would be too dificult. I think I will give it a try as well.
 
Why am I the only one who likes grey stocks? :confused: I was disapointed like Hell when Weatherby changed the MKV UL from grey to tan. :(

Paints cheap, sell your pop cans and buy the colours you need.

I like to use tan as a base coat, so you'll need a can of that. Paint the whole project with it then use your other colours to match the area your going to use the gun. The shotgun was used in marsh grass so I kept it lighter, the rifle was to be used more in the tree's and bushes so I made it darker. Olive is better in lighter patterns, brown in darker. You'll also need a bit of black for contrast. Just play and you'll figure it out.

I'm gunna have to give that a go I think!

Pharoh, unfortunately I don't believe we can sell our pop cans here in London, although I do see a lot of homeless people going around on recycling day and taking everyones old wine/beer bottles to exchange those, maybe I'll fight of a few of them and steal their bottles :D
On a serious note, the arma-coat i have wasn't cheap I spent about 68 dollars to get to small cans to my door, although I guess when you compare to getting it professionally done it really isn't all that expensive at all :) I might have to spring for it and buy some black from them :D

Yes you can, you need quite a few though, crush em up and fill a garbage bag and take em in to either zubicks (sp?) or London Salvage.
 
Here's my CZ ... if you want some inspiration for a paintjob. it's Krylon, I did it myself, first one I ever did. A lot of people seem to like what I did with it. Total cost? Under $20. I am sure you can do it with armacoat or whatever paints you want :)

If you plan on coyote and deer hunting, this pattern works well pretty much anywhere. (BC to Ontario, although probably much better suited for the foress here in Ontario, Quebec etc... but you can obviously play with the colours, lighter/darker, greener/tanner etc etc).

An build a deck out of 2x4's also...cause they are cheap...feel the burn eh...feel the burn...Global warming has nothing on CGN...:D:cheers: Or buy a real like pink lavender couch and post pics of a shotgun on it...DAMN I had to look for 5 minutes just to see it...the camo is incredible in that pic...If he dropped the shotty on the floor it would take 3 weeks to at least find it...Well time to go hide and wait for the backlash...Hi Ya Pharoah..ya old codger<<<Waves....

Well that is a lovely dark shade of PINK you have there...:stirthepot2: Last time I seen that dark shade of pink was this girl....meh...never mind...:cool:
