How to pronounce Tanfoglio?

gl is is the 'ly' sound in the middle of the word million. So tagliatelle is 'talya-tel-lay'. In Italian, gl can come at the start of a word as well. Gli is pronounced 'l-yee'.

i is pronounced like ee.

So, I guess it Tan FO Lyee oh

(Thank my Italo-Canadian wife.)

The best I can do is Tan Fo Leo

How do you say "Franchi" Shotguns?

Just curious how one might say Tanfoglio without butchering it. I'm thinking that it it's tan-foe-lee-oh, but really have no clue

The Mec-Gar rep at IWA pronounced it that way, so I'm pretty sure that's right. Or was it: "glee-oh" at the end. Who cares, "EAA" is easier to pronounce. :p

Well I'm not Italian, but my brother of another mother, is and I'll ask him tonight. (And btw, Italian mothers make the best cookies and cakes.)

Porsche is ALWAYS 'Porch-shé' as others have mentioned, Brits also called it so. Only North Americans as far as I know, say 'Porsch'

Heckler und Koch is 'heck-ler' 'oon' 'koc'

Das Boot is not 'the boot' but rather is 'the boat' and pronounce ...'das boat'

As for cooks, try your hand at pronouncing Köche. Hehe it always seems to make people make a goldfish mouth look.

Actually, the only correct pronunciation of Porsche is "Porsha", with the intonation on "o". Just watch any Porsche commercial, like this one:

Yes that's right, link a site that is a commercial for Porsche America.....

I'm not good at writing pronounciations but in german 'e' at the end of a word is generally a less pronounced sound, more like quiet 'uh' than 'AH' or however you like to write it....

It is the same as Porsche, Renate, Linde(those of you who knoe CAT will know this as competition), etc etc

Tanfoglio according to Italians(from the north, no Sicilians heheh) is 'tan fo lio'
