How to remove ammo can paint

I recently bought a 30-cal ammo can from canada ammo and I was hoping to repaint it as a gift for my gf....

I was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the current paint?

Just to remove the lettering on ammo cans I use gasket remover and that takes all the letting and stickers off from there you should be able to paint over no problem

What's wrong with green?

It's a set I'm getting for my girlfriend, she told me she would only shoot with me if everythign is pink...(yes, that includes pink ammo can, pink ear muffs, and a pink AR...which I can't take the damn hand-guard off)

Anyone recommend any good paint remover? Also any ideas on how to remove the Dominion Arms DA556 hand guard would be much appreciated. (The tapered pins absolutely refuses to come out and the gun has a weird one-piece handguard)

Yup. Sand, brake clean, paint pink.

No need to remove the lovely issue green paint. Just sand a bit and paint over it.

I totally agree...I actually love the green color, very rich and dark.....oh well, she's the boss of the household haha.

On a side note, did you know you can use an ammo can as a barbeque? Simply lay the ammo can on it's side, throw in a few charcoal briquets, light 'em up and once the green paint burns off, the upper surface makes a fine, if small griddle.
Remove the lid though- that rubber gasket won't respond well to the heat...
