i know this has probley been talked about before but i have a m14 with the bayo lug and the flash hider is not welded just wondering how to get it of thanks

I remember at the 2009 Barrie Gun Club M14 clinic, several members showed up with their 2009 Norc/Poly rifles. Most of them were bought from Epps in Orillia. All their flash suppressors just slipped right off  and I was super surprised because THAT is the way they are supposed to slide off.

* Loosen / back out castle nut set screw with 1mm or 2mm or 1/16" allen key (all depends what fits)

* Take castle nut pliers (righty tighty, lefty loosy) and loosen castle nut a few turns

* Hard plastic hammer & block of wood to the bayonet lug (or the stub/bottom of neutered lug)

* turn castle nut some more

* Whack FS with block of wood & hammer

* turn castle nut more again

* repeat until the flash suppressor slides off the 3 splines on the barrel.

Hope this helps... :D

Cheers,
Barney

WoW I wonder who filmed that:rolleyes:
The guy on there sure looks like he knows what he is doing :p
Actually there are some of the new 1's that we have come across that this is not even required. So I would read the stickies and try to atend a clinic if you can. As there is some flash hidder removail vet's that can make this a breaze! Hungry & powmia56 know what I mean! ;)
