How to remove S&W K-frame rubber grips

Hi, my 617 came with Hogue rubber grips that are very poor looking. Not even lying flat on the frame.
I've decided to get custom grips and need directions on how to remove the rubber ones. There are no screws attaching them.
any advice will be appreciated.

The screw is in the bottom. Remove it, and tilt the bottom of the grip forward while pulling down (there's a groove on the inside that the grip pins slide in) and they should come right off. - dan

I am not familiar with the new K frame grips but, if they are similar to the J frame, they can be removed by inserting a credit card between the frame and the grip and sliding it up and down. If there's no screw at the bottom of the grip, they'll be the same as J frames.

NIB J frames have a special "U" shaped tool that is used.
