How to remove stripper clip guide on Norc M-14s?

I see it is staked in with a roll pin: do I just drift in all the way in until it drops out? I don't think it is possible to pull it out, per se- just keep drifting it in until it is through. What is the preferred method/tricks? Thanks

I just drilled mine out took at 10 seconds.

I used a punch to drift out the roll pin then rubber mallet to persuade the guide itself off.
Took minutes.

Pin punch for the roll pin. You need to remove the bolt from the receiver first. After that, drift it out using a ball peen hammer and either a brass or aluminum punch.

It only comes out RIGHT TO LEFT.

this is subject to which way you are looking at the rifle..

basically knock it the same way that your brass ejects/the open side of the action

You hammer on it on the side the brass ejects on, the guide goes off on the scope mount side of the rifle

i must have gooten "lucky"- i used a finishing nail until it stuck out about half way, then vice grips and one good oomph

Odd, the Sadlak and ARMS instructions I have say right to left when viewed from the rear by the shooter. Has always worked for me on several M14's.

You have to remember that you are in the southern hemisphere. Things go the opposite direction down there.

I have removed the roll pin, but the guide itself will not budge. I have tried hammering it and it will not move. Yes, I am trying to move it right to left (from the rear of the receiver). For what its worth, it will not move the either way either.

Put down your purse... grab a rubber mallet.. and go to town. It's a battle rifle.. you won't break it
