How to remove verdigri on WW2 ammo

I purchased

A WW2 ammo lot and some ammo are green with a lot of verdigri

I purchased Them for collection i Will not shoot Them

What is the best way to clean Them and remove the green stuff ?

I Read some White vinegar and salt but im not sure...?

I dont whant to use steelwool

Help?
 
It all depends on the condition of the cases under the verdigris.

If the cartridges are fairly clean otherwise, tumbling and give them a different appearance than you want.

I soak such cartridges in DIESEL FUEL for a few days and the green waxy residue wipes of easily with paper towels. The thing is, where the verdigris adheres, the brass directly underneath will be quite bright, with a green tint around the edges.

Cartridge cases are extruded and show it. Tumbling lightly as mentioned might even out the stains or it might not.
