How to rivet the lee enfield handguards?

Hi Folks,

Got a repro set of No1 Mk3 and I am unsure as to how to proceed to rivet the front handguard cap and rear handguard.

What tool do I need/how to proceed? I'm only familiar with the pop-rivets and these aren't that!.

The front guard (Brit) does not get riveted. It's secure with 2 small screws. Ishaphore and Australian sometimes riveted however the rivets do look like the ones you have. Ron

Would it be acceptable to cheat? Epoxy the metal to the handguard, and glue in cut off rivets for the sake of appearance.

Everyone has alittle bubba in them lol. I was thinking the same thing.

If those are copper rivets you should be able to "buck" them with a pair of knipex flat jaw pliers.

Rivets are a huge pita, had to make or convert my own tools. They were less than satisfactory. They did get the job done, but wasn`t much fun. Make sure that you anneal the crap out of the rivets too.
