Hey all.

It is with great regret that I am thinking seriously about selling 2 restricteds. One is a prohib.

To make sure that I don't cause any unnecessary delays I am looking to find out what is involved and the etiquette here on the forum.

I do know that I will need a PAL and mailing address from buyer.

I need to figure out how to accept an EMT.

Is there anything else I need to think about like other forms of payment? I need to initiate the transfer.

Anything else that would be helpfull.

I have only made purchases up to now.

As a seller it'll be no different than a NR sale other than the fact you should be sure to wait for the xfer to be approved before shipping.

  • Take pictures
  • list on EE
  • respond to PM/emails promptly
  • work deal get pal and mailing address, email address and phone number (give yours in return)
  • Get payment (EMT works with an email address if you bank with the big 5 bank's it's part of internet banking)
  • Call the CFC and start the transfer (1800-731-4000 1, 4, 2, 2 )
  • Give the reference number to the buyer and tell him to call in
  • Wait for paperwork to be completed (call to verify and get the tan)
  • ship promptly

go on www.imageshack.us, click browse, select your picture
then click resize image to 800x600

then click "start upload!" when it's done you scroll down the page and pickup the "Hotlink for forums (1)" link and past it here

Or use photobucket.com instead. Otherwise, it works the same. I find the pop ups off imageshack very annoying when viewing pics posted there.

I can never see pictures hosted on photobucket, all I see is image hosted by photobucket but no picture
I guess that's because I dont have an account and theres an option that pictures are only visible to people with accounts? Anyway, there are no advantages to photobucket over imageshack... maybe the speed of the website?
maybe...
but with imageshack you don't need an account and pictures are hosted like forever, on photobucket they disappear after like 2 months

My favourite way of post pics is to upload them to a private album on my Facebook account. (I know, you guys don't all have Facebook, but if you do...) Once that is done, simply right click on the pic, select "Copy Image Location" and paste that into the pop-up window that appears when you click the "Insert Image" icon in here.

Facebook auto-resizes the pics to an almost dial-up friendly size. Sure, you don't get the max resolution available, but you can always email better pics to interested buyers if they want them.

If you don't have a Facebook account already, do the Photobucket thing, but if you do, it's one less account you have to worry about online.

But please, for the love of all that's holy, don't create an EE post without pics. It is most frustrating for the buyers.

you do not need to wait for the paperwork, but make sure you have the transfer completed first. you also need a STATT to go to the post office.

Go figure, I never had a problem before or after becoming a member. I have pictures that have been hosted for a number of years there without problems, not sure why you would lose some after 2 months.

From the buyer you need $, his name and his RPAL. then call the feds at

1 800 731-4000 #1 #4 #2 #2 and tell the nice lady you are the SELLER. She will need to know your PAL and the cert# of the gun you are selling and the name and RPAL of the buyer.

She will mail you a note when the registation is complete to the buyer, and once you receive the ATT, (automaticly issued) you can mail gun to buyer. Should be shipped by Courrier. Canada Post EXprespost qualifeis.

att's are not automatically issued, you need to call and get one.

...... and, you don't need to wait for the paperwork to arrive in the mail - a verbal approval of the transfer from the CFC is adequate.

You need to wait for the paperwork to be done.. You just don't need the paperwork in hand.. You need the TAN for restricted and prohibs and the approval # for NR's
