I tried Silica pouches once. Seemed to attract moisture rather than eliminate it. Stopped using them.

I store my HGs in their foam lined transportation cases, BUT, I take them out once a month to inspect them and wipe them down with an oily rag.

Silica pouches work in my safe and in the room my safe is in.

When I bought my Seahorse, it was already cut that way... I'm sure the Princess Auto cases were cheaper.

Yeah. If no one is inspecting your guns, it doesn't matter.

When you're border crossing, or flying, or being inspected, or whatever, chamber flags prevent a lot of questions, and unnecessary handling, and save time. They don't ask "Is it unloaded?" because they can see that for themselves.

Just like trigger locks...the law doesn't require trigger locks, but a lot of people think that the law requires trigger locks. If you don't use a trigger lock, and one of these people ask "Is it triggerlocked?", you have to begin to attempt to explain the law to them. If it is triggerlocked, however, all you need to do it say "Yes."

(a) that can only be opened or released by the use of an electronic, magnetic or mechanical key or by setting the device in accordance with an alphabetical or numerical combination; and

Do you see the words 'trigger lock' in there anywhere? Neither do I, but a lot of people (who've probably never read the regulations) will tell you that you need a 'trigger lock', as in, "Is it triggerlocked?"

If it does has a triggerlock, you can assure them: "Yes, it has a triggerlock."

I too have used chamber locks, cable locks, Hillary hole locks and the holy grail of locks the trigger lock.
