How To Smooth Out M305 Action

Tx guys, for the help, and, I spent the best part of one evening cleaning the cosmo and greasing the thing before shooting. Turns out, it worked flawlessly but so far, just getting 6 inch groups at 50 yards after 80 rounds of 150 grain FMJ. Probably the shooter or I have to increase the load to 168 :) I will however follow the other indications on this site to improve the accuracy, starting with op rod guide, because, I did notice a bit of looseness in the action. Need to tighten things up a bit. BTY the safety is a finger breaker, needed a screw driver to work the thing on and off, guess it needs a bit of breaking in. TX again for your help. I like this thing, maybe I will get two :)

Thanx to Tony, I went looking for a "hobby brush" at the local predominatly female customer oriented craft shop. Got allot of strange looks from female customers as I was the only male not being dragged around by a female.

Female clerks (X3) asked if I needed help. The first one I told I was looking for small paint brushes. She asked why and I told her to grease my firearms. She had a shocked expression that was priceless.

So tell Tony I said thanx.

I love that look. I needed to repair a wooden hand guard on a rifle I had. Went to the hardware store and asked the girl for some decent cement / glue. She asked what it was for, I said repairing a split in a wood hand guard on a rifle I was fixing up..

Jaw drop... LOL :D

Grease the op rod track (see where the op rod tab slides forward and backwards?), both bolt lugs, bolt raceways, the bolt roller hump where the bolt roller resides and functions.

So I noticed that my bolt roller, when im cycling that action back and forth, doesnt actually roll on the bolt raceway, it just sits inside the bolt roller hump and doesnt spin or touch the raceway at all. This I am assuming is a bad thing! what do i do about it

Might be completely different when its being driven rearward in the blind of an eye by the impulse of the gas system and ejecting a spent cartridge. The way you are testing it, is under very little load.

Ya you may be right, just curious thats all, everythings lubed as per the sticky so ill guess ill have to find out! gonna go test it out today
