Hey,

I was so excited to find some varget that I bought 7lbs of it.

Got it in the mail the other day and found it was packaged in a clear bag in a box.

How should I store this over the long term?

Do I put it in a new container? Leave it in the box and bag?

All the powder I've gotten until now has been in black sealed plastic containers with screw on lids.

Just find youself a smaller container to transfer a pound or so into for immediate use, wrap up the bag tight again, fold it into the box, close up the top of the box and store it in a cool, dark place till you need more. I have been buying powder from Higginson's for many years that way, and I have some that is now at least 15 years old, with no detrimental effect from storing it as described. Best to keep the temperatures fairly steady & cool for best powder life. Regards, Eagleye.

Same here, but double bag.

The two liter juice rectanglar plastic jug holds 4 pounds. 2 of them will do the job. I write on the jug with a black plastic marker the name of the powder and the date, so the older ones get used first.

I put the ready-use powders in the 2 liter juice jugs and the staorage powders in the 4 liter window washer fluid jugs. I collect thsoe at the gas station garbage can in the winter. Once again, black markers with powder type and date.

My wife uses the empty 50 pound drums to pack her flower bulbs for storage.

I hope you buy it for the tub and throw the coffee away...Folger's isn't fit for human consumption.

My thoughts exactly. I can't believe people put that into their bodies. No wonder those fancy flavoured creamers sell so well. Starbucks is my minimum standard, I'd rather have no coffee than bad coffee (tim's, folgers, etc).

I like to store mine in little brass containers...
