How to tell????

If your rings are aligned properly.

My Husky...a 270win on a M98 action is the gun.

2 scopes now have been messed up, first a cheap Bushnell all of a sudden was stuck on 3x? Not dropped or bashed, only range-safe travel for it, not even a hunting trip....thought it was just a cheap scope, now my redfield 3x9 is stuck on 9X?

WTF? Im thinking my rings are not lined up? It isnt a hard recoiling gun...I want to figure it out before buying another scope.

There are tools for this, or you can make your own. Basically a steel 1" rod, machined down to a point. There are two of them, and you put them in the rings with the points towards each other. If the points are out of alignment, you'll see it right away. There are other tools as well, peruse the Brownells catalogue sometime. - dan

I had a 270 Rem and I found that the scope would move slightly when shooting,enough to jam it against the rings so that I could'nt use the magnification. The point is I thought that it was a bad set of rings and it turned out to be the above,so check everything.

Burris Bases, no names on the rings...weaver or burris, i cant tell?:confused:
