how to tighten the op rod guide

At hungrys clinic, we pushed out the chinese roll pin, clean the mating surfaces, then used a large roll pin to set the guide, and then pounded a small roll pin inside the large roll pin to set the part.

Its sturdy as heck now! Pm hungry and see what size roll pins he used. It was a couple years back now so I kind of forget.

sometimes a roll pin (or split pin) isn't the ticket. Lightly knurling the barrel is usually the best way...when its clean you apply Red Loctite and slide the oprod guide back on and then center it to the piston. Obviously let the sucker cure for a bit and I guarantee it won't move ever again.

:agree:
Best cure for your woblley guide blues ;)

At a clinic, we looked at my wobbly guide. I took out the old pin, but the diameter of the roll pin hole on the guide was noticeably larger than the notch on the barrel. A larger pin reduced the wobbliness somewhat, but it still wobbled. Hungry said it would be ok. The wobbliness is due to the different diameters. I later used a center punch to knurl both ends of the pin. It still moves, but is hardly noticeable.

Life is good now. :D

Shaazam............you got it.... ;)

If you don't have a lathe/knurling tool you can carefully dimpel the area where the guide sits with a center punch..........then use the red loctite and new roll pin...........

Jack, I got your back on this one Brutha......we'll get you all fixed up:D
