How to track down your ammos source...

How do i find out where this ammo was made and what exact kind it is? It looks really cool, not the usual milsurp FMJ... is this SPBT?

I thought it was bulgarian....ordered from SFRC (the ammo source) online.

For my SVT40. Wondering what the red ring means.. and if the silver tip means soft point ballistic tip..which would mean no steel core and range legal?

just chopped one up... solid steel inside right to the tip.. i think its FMJ with a paint job not a soft point. still love to know the source tho.

No, it's Bulgarian. Note the "Circle 10" factory code.

Silver tip for WP-manufactured ammo is light ball. Not AP but probably a bit more so than an equivalent lead core round. Cheaper to make than lead core and the bullet weight doesn't beat up autoloaders as much.

The red stuff is sealant. Should see it around the primer as well.

The last stuff I picked up(late 60's Chinese) has neither.
