How well do the hot lips loaders work?

I owned one for a while with a quantity of 25 rd mags. It worked quite well, but I still spent more time loading those bloody mags than I did shooting them. I decided to stick to standard Ruger 10 rd mags loaded by hand so I got rid of it on here. The 10 rd mags loaded by hand keep me within my own accuracy vs volume guidlines :)

I knew I bought something from you! :D It was the 4 mags and the speedloader.

And to answer the question. Yes, they do work quite well.

The steel ones work quite nicely. Yes, they take a while to load, but when you get going on some pop cans or other reactive targets, mucho fun :)

The loader is great! I just bought one after my thumbs went of strike...less contact with the lead, faster loading, no thumb cramps and skin chapping, fun new toy, and more...I had it out at the POCO range today and 4 diff. shooters approached me and asked about it. I lent it to all of them and they were equally as impressed as I...

I GIVE THE BUTLER CREEK 10/22 25rd. MAG LOADER TWO VERY HAPPY THUMBS UP! Best $40 I have spent in a while...

***EDIT*** as for the 25rd mags go STEEL LIPS! NO QUESTION ABOUT IT!****

Thumbs up for the steel lips and the loader. :D It has this certain magic that makes a bricks of ammo disappear. ;) I have two steel lips and the loader and they have been absolutely reliable but JohnC has it right don't try to be too fast with the loader.

Does the hotlips loader work with Ruger factory BX-1 mags?
I would think so since the loading mechanism is essentially the same, but you never know! I've abandoned using my steel lip/hot lips mags due to misfeeds.

Buy one, mine was about 40$ but it was well worth it. The odd cartridge will get mauled if you're not careful (turning the nob too fast) and once or twice one has become rather stuck in the mechanism but it was never anything serious.
