Just thinking lately with all the shortages of everything and the unending theories for shortages how well stocked is everyone compared with say five or six years ago when things went bad? Not looking for exact amounts just an idea. I myself have bought quite a bit more powder than I would normally need and if I saw bullets on the shelf I use for a decent price I would buy a couple boxes just to have in case they don't return intstead of saying to myself that I don't really need them. Trying to get a grasp on the situation I guess.

Only been into this full force last three years, you mentioned something about 6 years ago? Was there a major drought on ammo and supply then? How long did it last and when things returned to normal were prices crazy?

About 6 years ago, a certain individual was elected president of the US of A......and its been downhill ever since....

Up until the Sandy Hook shooting Dec 2012 I could get as much as I wanted of any powder, primer, case, or bullet from my LGS. Where they giving it away for free before Obama was elected? I haven't been reloading that long.
I just can't see it being any better than "anything you want at competitive prices, in stock".
It was rare for me to ask for a certain powder or brand/type of primer and it was sold out. Even when it was it was back in stock within 2-4 weeks.

Personally I'm stocked up for maybe 12-18 months at the moment. I'd prefer to have 2-3 years worth stocked up but I'm back in school and that's eating into my disposable income.

It would be safe to say that most people have a lot bigger reserve tucked away than they would have kept 10 years ago.

I am just starting out, my stash is non existent and building one is a chore. Even finding what I need to get going has been trying, let alone stockpiling anything.

You likely aren't looking in the right places or are constantly looking for a DEAL.

Have you tried any of the banner advertisers or Ammomart???

If you are looking for a pound of powder at a time or a 100 count box of primers, you will likely be left wanting for at least the next 3 or more years, depending on who gets into the Whitehouse and maybe who gets in power in Canada in 2015.

I've been reloading since 1986 and the reloading component market has been on a roller coaster ride at least 3 times since then. I learned long ago to have enough stock to let me keep competing for at least 2 years.

i'm good for a while with the exception of rel 15. down to my last four lbs. i can substitute with varget or w748 if nessasary.

I have a good supply of rifle primers but short on powder.
Enough pistol powder for several years, but only 800 Small pistol primers for the upcoming IPSC season.

About 500lbs of lead sitting around so I'm good for bullets for awhile yet!
