How would you rate the 858 quality/performance wise?

My'ns great! It's more accurate than i am and the quality is nice as well. I got my'n from arma-coat so i can't say anything about factory finish. If you get one chances are you'll enjoy it.

1. Quality: Fit is pretty good, finish is ugly but durable.

2. Accuracy/performance: Good enough for me. I can usually get 2-3 inch groups at 100. Iron sights were perfect from the factory, no adjustment needed.

3. Reliability: Other than some crappy magazines giving me issues, I have had precisely ONE failure in 940 rounds. At around 500 rounds I had a light primer strike. Not sure what happened, it was the 2nd round in the mag. Put it back in and it fired fine, as did all the rest.

built like a tank and the most accurate of all 7.62 commie block rifles of the cold war era. Now if the stupid Candian laws didn't go full retard on us so that we could have one of the most important safety feature still in this rifle. There would be no such thing as a gremlin...
On a side note. The american ones would be a straight up no go for me.
