So I took out my Howa 1500 Varminter in .308 to the 100yd range today. I was having a fair bit of trouble getting it to group, and the rifle has held .3 MOA in the past (when I've done my part). After a dozen or so rounds of 1.5 inch groups I started looking to the rifle and re-set the parallax adjustment. The first group I shot afterwards is below.
Wait! where'd it go?
oh jeez
I think I've got myself a shooter. Ammo used was 168 grain Frontier flat point bullets in front of 40.8 grains of IMR 3031.
I think I'll try 200 next week.
