Howa 1500 BDC scope mount Question

Hey all , probably a noob question but I have a howa 1500 action and trying to use a Leupold 9x40 Canadian, the new one that has a BDC dial and i am using Leupold 700 bases and rings which are supposed to work fine but... my POI is 2 inches low at 100yrd and i am at the end of my adjustment never mind not being able to dial in to longer ranges. It is chambered in 30-06, i need help with this problem and would greatly appreciate any help from my fellow CGN experts. Pat

Is there a front and back base? Maybe you need to switch the bases front to back?

This doesn't directly solve your problem, but you could use Burris Signature rings with offset inserts.

Thanks but it looks like i've got to shim the rear base 10 thou, i will give it a try thanks again.
