Switching from savage to Howa 1500
Currently loading and shooti g 139gr hornadays.

Anyone have experience with this rifle?

Curious if it favors a certain bullet.
 
Sounds like a rather mild load to me. I'm guessing possibly 2800 fps.

I'm shooting 65.0 grains of IMR 4831 behind the 150 grain Partition for 3000+

But, of course, whatever works well. Dave.
 
Yah it's slow but my rifle has about three thousand rounds through it and still shoots like day one. I shoot lots of running game with it and I have the lead figured out with that speed so I'm not going to try and learn something new if this comes natural.
 
Well I am looking forward to shooting this rifle.

Planning to top it off with a vortex hs and am considering a muzzle break.

Guess Ill see how the recpil is in the Hogue stock.
