Howa Hogue 375 Ruger?

I have one too. I use a red dot on it and it's a great rifle. I had to dremel my barrel channel a bit, other than that she's been great!

I paid around $700 for mine.

I've had my Howa 1500 for 10 years. (granted in .300 win mag) I'll never sell it. It has knocked down thousands of pounds of meat for me over the years. (4 moose, 12 or more caribou, and 3 black bears)
It is such a super smooth rifle, and , as most guns made in Japan, very well made. Mine has a Hogue stock which certainly doesn't make it a lightweight, but its one grippy son'o bit ch. Great for my boat hunting.
I have a Ruger Alaskan in .375 Ruger. I would have bought a Howa instead in .375 Ruger if it had been invented when I bought the .300, And when I bought the Ruger, Howa wasn't chambering yet. So , I ended up with both. If you buy it (DO IT!! DO IT!!!) , let me know how she "rides". I may end up calling Clay at Prophet River to get me a Howa .375 in the near future (as I already have the reloading set up for .375 Ruger. It will just slide effortlessly into my locker alongside the Ruger)

I have a HOWA 30-06 and although I don't use it much, it's a good rifle. Chambered in the NEW KING it would be a great rifle ;)

My African friends all give the HOWA/375 Ruger combo the thumbs up!!

I rarely use irons but the Ruger irons are great, so that is a big plus for the Ruger. Most factory supplied irons are pretty lousy, the Riger ones are superb. Popping the scope off my Alsskan makes it feel like a little fast manoeuvring carbine. :)

The bigger plus in my opinion is the fact that the Howa is made with strict quality control, unlike the Ruger African and Alaskan that I briefly owned.
The Howa in 375 Ruger has excellent function, as I have said countless times before on scores of other threads the two Rugers I had were crap and were the Only Rugers I have owned that were.
I love the Ruger product which is why I tried to make them work but for the issues I had it also takes co-operation which I did not get.
Iron or no irons, if a gun malfunctions it isn't any good no matter who built it.

Well said. Sorry you had issues with the Rugers, but as long as you ended up working it out and getting a gun that works , I guess it's all good. Now I'm starting to get itchy for another Howa..................thanks a lot Emerson!!!!! Another month sleeping on the couch for "Unauthorized gun purchases".

I put irons on my howa in 375. It's a stainless rifle with the black hogue stock and I could only find blued irons so it looks a little different but this gun is a do it all/guide gun type rifle for me so looks don't matter.t

Sgt. Rock, I have the itch for another Howa also.
I bought one of the Howa Alpine models in 6.5 Creedmoor and what a sweet rifle !
So now I have the same rifle on order in .308 and am anxiously waiting.
Sleeping on the couch you say ?? Don't complain, I stay in a drafty doghouse with a leaky roof !!

As you age sleeping on the couch isn't such an imposition.... Delayed gratification and all... Prophet river wasn't able to source a 20" Howa 375. Any ideas where I might find one?
