thinking of getting a Howa mini action in 223 , one with the 20" heavy threaded barrel . wondering what you guys who have them think of them? How good do they shoot compared to other factory rifles? And how is the HACT trigger, is it easily adjustable?
Planning on using it for a carry rifle for coyotes, seems i'll be walking and carrying it more than shooting . Are there any stainless ones available here ? what other comparable size rifle available , that got a reputation of real good accuracy?

I have a Mini in 6.5 Grendel in a MDT LSS chassis and it's one of my favorite guns, I carry it all the time on walks with the dogs plus hunting. Mines the 22" tapered barrel and it is super accurate with 123 gr handloads. I prefer 6.5G over 223 as I use mine to hunt deer with as well as coyotes plus it's ballisticly way superior if you handload. I'd get the tapered barrel as a heavy threaded barrel is more weight and useless up here as we cannot have suppressors. The trigger is adjustable but....is easily made way better with a kit from Gunbloke in Australia via eBay. You can pick any weight, I have the 2.0# in mine, maybe a tad light for hunting but I'm used to it.

That action has nothing to do with Mauser design other than it is a bolt action rifle.

Could be a mini Mosin...

I like my 6.5 Grendel. Barreled action is great, stock is way too chunky and bottom metal plastic and mag release are poorly designed and flimsy. I replaced mine with a DIP aluminum unit. However, it is very accurate and functions flawlessly. I will eventually get a better stock...

You're mixing up a few different rifles here. Howa does have a mini action, it's a push feed based on their 1500. Zastava makes a mini mauser called the Mini Mauser/M85 (it's also a push feed). It's a shortened modified version of their Z98/M70 action.

Both excellent rifles and very different rifles.
