I remember seeing these everywhere and as of late they seem to be drying up.

Been trying to find one of the heavy Barrel multicam models in 223 off and on for a couple years and keep coming up empty.

What happened with Howa? We used to be able to order them but our distributors stopped bringing them in and very few stores seem to carry them. I've found a couple of the Kryptek models for sale at a store here in BC but that seems to be the only place.

Howa is alive and well. They were set up at the North Sylva vendors show the week before last.

I carry some in stock but they are a hard sell, at least to the average hunter here in Eastern Ontario. Nobody knows the name and they want the same brand as Dad/Granddad used.

But if your LGS has an account with North Sylva they can get one in for you.

I have the FDE Cerakote .308 light profile hunting rifle in the multicam stock. It is a surprisingly accurate rifle. The Howas represent fantastic value for your firearms dollar. They are made by a very good Japanese factory that has been in buisness a long time.

We had a howa sit on our rack for awhile simply because no one knew about them. Finally sold it to a really nice woman who was buying her first rifle.

Howa has been in my eye for a long time.

Super under rated but have an awesome selection of rifles...

I think this will be in my hands very soon.

Ive have been eyeing up the multicam also!

The GRS type is nice. Not so "tactical" im going to scare the farmers and older gents but all the modern ergos id look for.

Those are all on the list. May have some serious life changes and be moving west though. If I do, I know ill be after some big game and one of my first purchases next to a new truck will be a howa alpine to smash some mountain goats with

IDN i may just be a weird fan boy, but I think they are one of the best kept secrets out there. Made in the same factory a Weatherby and i LOVE their rifles. (the fact they offer a 1moa guarantee does it for me. )

I was going to say that my Howa lightweight hunting barrel puts 5 rounds of Lapua 185gr soft points into an inch @ 100 yds, but every one seems to claim that whether true or not. In the case of my Howa, that is actually true. I was impressed all to heck during my first sight-in this past summer. Outstanding performance from such a lightweight barrel. The Howas aren't just built in the same factory as Weatherby rifles - they are the exact same actions, just in differently stocks and with different trade-marks.

I would love to try the new Howa Chassis Rifle. I bet it shoots like a dream.....

Oh man I know right?! I got my paws on a Weatherby Vanguard modular and almost didnt let it go.

I don't own any Howa/Weatherby's because I'm happy with what I have (mostly good Remington 700's).

But I gotta tell ya, the Howa/Weatherby stuff really catches my eye. Howa stocks aside, they can't be beat for the value the offer.

Picked up a Howa HLR in 6.5 from a site sponsor that is mentioned in this thread - Howa / Weatherby both underated in my opinion they are built well and made to last

I have had my 1500 for a while now. 7Rem Mag. I have it sighted for 200M and it is sub moa. About 1.5 inches on a good day. On a bad day it is my fault not the guns.

Great gun at a reasonable price.

I had multiple Remington 700s and a couple Savage Rifles.

Then I found a Howa 1500 in 7mm Rem Magnum at Prophet River. I was immediately in love with the handle and feel of this gun.

My Groups were much tighter than with the Remington 7mm and I was still shooting the load that I developed for the Remington.

After some Range time I have tightened the Howa right up and with only a Trigger Mod to lighten it up a tad.

I now have the Howa Mini which I just purchased from Prophet and cat wait to play with this little rifle.

The only Remington I have left is a 223 and as soon as I can get rid of it I will be looking for a Howa in 223.

By far the best rifle in the price range.

Howa 204

My next build will be a howa 204 going to order the barreled action from a site sponsor since I have B&C short action stock that I purchased from a CGN member. May go with the 24 inch barrel - I personally see nothing wrong with Howa or Weatherby my Vanguard shot very well - when I had my game face on it shot just under MOA at 200 yards (that dang flyer).

Howa's are quality rifles - will be breaking in the barrel as per instructions from HOWA - this will ensure optimal accuracy - the first 10 shots will take about an hour - the following 10 shots about 1/2 hour.

Then after a thorough cleaning I will be ready to site in the scope on my next range day. In this matter patience is key and it should pay off down the road. My Coyote go-to rifle is a Tikka T3x in 223 - it shot a .75 inch group at 200 yards (3 shot) with the flyer just over 1.6 inches. Using 55g Sako ammo. I did the proper break in procedure for this one as well.

cheers
