Has either rifle been sold with a good target stock?
wide flat fore end, vertical grip, no flex
searches turned up the HCR (no stocking dealer icf), but thinking more conventional

Prophet River has 6.5 creed and 308 Howa 1500s in aluminim chassis on their webstore. They can probably order you a barreled action if you want to pick your own stock/chassis.

Boyd's Pro Varmint wood be the type we're after
Barreled action in a cartridge of choice would be a tough find, might just go for an action and a barrel
Or take a regularly available rifle option and modify the stock somewhat

Have a Howa 308 coming from Prophet and they have some B&C Varm/Tact stock options available
Will wring this out for a good test trial, lots of options for stock/chassis/barrel changes later

I have a weatherby modular chassis 308 that comes with a metal (tactical) type stock. It has never been fired and I am going to sell it off shortly. let me know if you are interested and what you would give as a reasonable offer for it. Please do not low ball me and waste both our times. It can be seen in Calgary. Shipping would be extra.

I've put a Vanguard S2 .243 factory barreled action into an adjustable Boyds AT-One stock. Works for me, shooting pop cans out to 500m.

A couple years ago I put together a prairie dog/gopher rig in .223 AI using a Weatherby Vanguard S1 action, McGowen “Howage” pre-fit heavy-varmint contour barrel from Mystic Precision, and bedded it into a Boyd’s pro-varmint stock. I also reworked the trigger with a spring kit from Gunbloke. I’m getting very accurate results from an underrated action. The build was also budget friendly, and I wouldn’t hesitate to do another.

So far have just added a fore end rail to the Hogue stock and a rear bag rider and have played with the butt pad position to get it to fit my shoulder better
Don't mind screwing bits onto the factory offering, Bubba style

I see now MDT has the Field stock out for the Howa, that might be the ticket

First test was with a few leftovers, Berger 168 Hybrids over old partial can of IMR4064, best was 3 into .5", but those are gone now
Second is with Sierra 168 MK's over some IMR4350 I need to burn up, under 1" but still playing with col
Not exactly 'target' grade I know, but satisfying for what I paid
