Howabout magnaporting

You should be aware that cleaning a magna ported barrel is considerably harder than a non ported barrel. When ported rifles come in my shop for accuracy problems, upon inspecting the barrel I see bore damage at the port areas all the time.

Dust settles in the bore throught the ports and acts as an abrasive when you fire a cartridge, when you run a wet brush through, dirty residue flips off the brush into the ports and then slowy seeps back into the bore... if this isn't cleaned out, damage can occur when fired.

I suggest when cleaning a ported barrel, as you dry patch it, stop the brush just short of the ports and use a compressed air supply give a big blast of air in the muzzle forcing any crap in the ports outwards. Do that a couple of times and place masking tape over the ports and muzzle.

Ease of cleaning and better recoil reduction is why I recommend and install threaded muzzle brakes.

Good thing too. I sent him quite a few guns before he scratched two of mine. After talking to Kelly the next ones went to the US. Problem solved.
The problem was that you fit a pilot in the crown to set it up and if you are not carefull you get deep scatches at 90 degrees to the bore on the lands. This can be prevented by cleaning and not rotating the barrel which allows the small particles flushed to get between the pilot and lands. One .338 M70 when clean put the first 5 in 3/4 -next 5 in 2'' and by 20 rounds was over 6" + for 5. All this from jacket build up on the damaged area.
