I've been looking for this brake everywhere. I can't find it!

I want a flash hider on my 10/22 (just for looks, duh). But I don't like those dorky ones that slip on around the front sight post like this:

I love how the first one is flush with the barrel. I think he punched the front sight out of the dovetail and then slid this one on until it was flush with the end of the barrel.

I guess my question is, are those slip on brakes wide enough on the inside to slip over the dove tail?

I'm not sure how this particular barrel was done, my guess would be that the muzzle was threaded and the FE was screwed on.

That's how I did mine.

Doesn't look like a real flash hider that's threaded on to me. It looks fake...the holes are just depressions...and I can see what seems to be a small hole for a roll pin that can be used to hold it on where the front sight used to be.

Probably made out of plastic and pinned on after the front site is removed...similar to the Marauder fake can idea. So it's not a brake or flash hider.

YES dude yes... Keen eye. You're definitely right.

I knew it wasn't a thread on. Thats the factory barrel/muzzle peeking out from under the flash hider. I am thinking of threading, but I would rather do this and keep my dovetail up front if at all possible....

I CANNOT google-fu this son of a #####. Damn it.... Can't find it anywhere...

The barrel is threaded 1/2-28 probably.

The SR-22 comes with a threaded barrel right out of the factory - I wonder if you could just order a factory SR-22 barrel? I think it's a bit heavier than the standard 10/22 so you might have some work to do getting it to fit your stock.

Would you be happy with the metal vortex style flash hider that comes with the Marauder kit? It slips over the dove tail and you pin it on. Looks like this:

If you like the looks of that, I would put a WTB ad on the Rimfire Parts EE and see if anyone who has a Marauder kit and not using their flash hider and roll pin would be willing to sell it to you. It would be cheaper, and would look pretty decent IMO, than anything plastic.

My choices, if I were in your position, would be to install the Marauder FH or thread the factory barrel and install a real AR FH. Purchasing an SR22 barrel would be way too expensive just to get some threading on the muzzle IMO.

I couldn't find anything online on that plastic job that you showed on the first picture either.

I realized this is a cooey 64, and after a few more minutes of staring, it's still a cooey 64.
Ok, explain. Homemade stock?
