I live north of Toronto about 15 klms from Richmond Hill.

I am thinking of joining a club. I don't have my licenses in Canada yet so I have to do that and was considering doing them at a place called target sports centre. Is it any good? I understand I have to do some kind of safety course and write two exams at the end, one for guns and one for handguns. I was told it takes a whole weekend. Is that right? Most of my experience is combat shooting in Israel. Handguns: glock 17, jericho, various 1911s. Rifles: m16 and various .22s (my first gun was an old .22 Remington). I am fairly partial to Jerichos as they have been my trusted sidearm. I think they are called Dessert Eagles or Baby Eagles here in Canada, no? Glocks are okay but I never really got use to how different they are.
 
find a club you like, best place to learn before taking the course and test or just the test if you decide to challange it

thanks for all the welcomes. Question, is it just my imagination or is getting a license to carry next-to-impossible if you are not a cop?

Closer to flat out impossible. However they can be issued if you are a working trapper to be carried on the trap line only
 
Stupid question

Maybe this is a stupid question but can I get the restricted without getting the non-restricted? Or is the latter a prereq for the former?

Hey, I'm thinking of joining there. My understanding is they just have facilities for handguns, is that correct? I'd like to be able to shoot my rifles as well. Do they have facilities for that or would I have to join a different club?
