Yeah, some of us Torontonians do want to legally obtain firearms and take them to the range, as surprising as it sounds.. Doesn't mean I don't lean a bit to the left of your typical gun enthusiast, though

I'm painfully inexperienced, with a grand total of 10 rounds fired out of my cousin's chromed M57, a little over a decade ago when he took me to his regular range.. I loved it, wanted to do it again, but other stuff always got in the way. This time around, I figured I'd take the course, get my PAL and at least have that part out of the way.

Originally, I wanted to get an EZ 9 to play with, but it's not easy to track down locally, so I will probably settle for an NP-22 for starters.

Before that, there's plenty of lurking, a couple of questions and looking for courses ahead of me.

Hey welcome to the boards... A Toronto newbie here too.

I took my course at the York Region Firearms Academy, I recommend them if you haven't signed up for a class yet: http://www.yrfirearms.com/Instructors.htm
Thanks for the welcome and heads up.. I might end up going with them even though I dread having to make it out to RH by 8am.. If I can't find anything along the Gardiner/QEW corridor, I might be forced to though.

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks.. Btw no need to invite my wife to the ladies' forum until I (eventually) take her out to a range a couple of times.. After that.. Who knows.. I might have to get another cabinet, spray-paint it pink and slap a few Hello Kitty stickers on it... She has worse acquisition disorders than I do :D

Note to everyone: Looks like there is an earlier opening in my school of choice, so I'm set on that count. While I'm not in a particular rush, it's good to have the time flexibility in case a good opportunity comes up.
