Just joined the site - nice to see some fellow Canadians spending their money on the same things as me . I'm not living in Canada at the moment but missing the hell out of it - I'll get some pics of my black ones up asap...

Cheers to all of you , nothing beats Canada . Looking forward to being home one day .

ETA - I'm a die-hard misplaced Canuck - been in the US almost two years .

Ahh not quite , no F/A for me - have to be a US citizen for that ... happy with the rest though ! You've got the short barreled shotguns and cheap M14s remember ...

Welcome vcrmac. When you do return to Canada, you'll be frustrated I think. Americans value individualism. You'll miss it when you come home.

I lived in east van actually north burnaby for about 5 years all of my fun times seemed to happen down around there though :D ive got a lovely lil lady thats just begging me to come stay with her in colorado the more i cruise the build it yourself AK threads on ar15. c o m the more i am tempted to take her up on her offer... have fun down there

p.s- if they keep heading where they seem to be just get near the rockies and head north brother

Why in the name of christ would you come back? Stay down there and enjoy hot sun and freedom... do it for me...

Seriously..... can you name 3 reasons to come back, besides family? Just so you know, I'm going to rebut so make your reasons good....

Well family is the big one - I'll include friends in this reason as well to leave it out of the requested three :

You've got me a bit . I may have to come back to this . Family and friends is the big one I guess . There is just something about Canada . You don't feel it when you leave ? I've traveled quite a bit and always kiss the ground when I get back to Canada .

:agree:

:D

What are you leaving?

1) a country of free medical care ........IF you can find a doctor....... and even if you can, you sit at home years waiting for treatment while your cancer spreads.

2) a country with a gutless legal system that punishes the law abiding & molly coddles criminals & terrorists not out of any misplaced sense of benevolence but raw cowardice.

3) a country where traitors have an official political party in the federal Parliament.

4) a country run by an insane lunatic asylum cadre of "Mad Magazine" politicians.

5) a country that in a fair fight without the implied military protectorship of the USA would be torn to shreds & devoured like a bloated, lame legged cow among a pack of hungry international wolves.........if it wasn't for big brother to the south our territory would have been occupied & our resources plundered by international pirates like the USSR, Japan & China long ago........our survival as an intact nation is a direct result of the cold war detente among the worlds REAL military powers.......like it or not Canada is the Yanks "back yard" & if it wasn't for the American "keep off the grass" sign our "let's pretend" sovereignty would vanish like a morning mist in the first light of dawn.........another reality that is not easy to swallow but very true. Take the USA out of the equation & the Canadian army as it is now equipped & manned would probably be able to hold & defend a Province the size of New Brunswick.

Wow ! How do you really feel ? Just kidding - good points above . I never had any issues with the medical system when I was there , and no lie I've broken 17 bones in my life . I know it has gotten much worse . My medical insurance here is $784.00 / month for myself , my wife and 5 year old daughter . Last summer I blew my knee down here which led me to surgery on May 27th - waited a month and a half for my surgery here , with two months of rehab following. My total out of pocket expenses with the best available insurance down here ? $5000.00 ( not including the 4 months of insurance premiums paid during the wait and rehab ) . My wife is pregnant right now and our deductible for the birth ? $6500.00 ( again on top of the insurance premiums every month ... ) sooooooo , I'm having an interesting introduction to the health care system so far .

I love the States and have nothing but respect for Americans . We are America's hat as you said , but it seems sometimes like they don't notice that for the most part we stand behind them .
