Greetings to all from the Sunny South. I saw a link to this forum on another gun forum I belong to and wanted to give it a try. It looks like a great place to hang out and do a lot of learning. Sooooo, If you don't mind, I'll throw another log on the fire and open another Moose Head.

:welcome: woodyubet. Lots of 'know what their talking about' folk's 'round here, 'specially concerning the older/unusual stuff.

Ya got Moose Head's that far south?. Considered 'mediocre':puke: premium beer up here, and at close to $40 per 24:runaway:, would you mind telling us what you guy's pay?.

:cheers:from the great white north.

Moose Head was big when I was in collage....a long time ago......None here in the north woods of Mississippi.........I actually live in a dry county, no booze allowed, so we have to make our own.......

Thanks folks....I was right about this place. It's a great place to hang out and the people are warm and friendly, and the knowledge base covers things I've probably never thought about but should have. If I can hang out long enough I may learn to say "A" properly. Thanks for the warm welcome .........woody

Howdy to you too!

I would have thought sipping a mint julep on the veranda of your plantation would have been more your thing.

What's the weather like down where you are?

Welcome!

Um, it's spelled "eh". Anyways, enough about good old :canadaFlag:. Tell us about your guns! :D

Hello there, Eh!
just kidding
Welcome to the forum... x2 on the gun would love to here about what you have in your gun cabinet.

We're just simple country folk down here used to hard work and harder play. I must confess that I am a retired wood worker and I play a lot more than I work. As far as the mint julip goes, well, that is for the Good Old Boys in the white linen suits and dogs named Bo'reguard.
For those that want to know about the gun cabinet I would be honored to show the contents in the proper place. Where would you like to start.....Hunting....Plinking.....Home defence......Personal Defence ?

Seriously, what is the weather like down there?

If there's one thing you need to understand about Canadians, we have a burnbing desire to talk about the weather.

It's important to us.

Weather ? No problem. We got plenty of it. For the past week it has been cloudy and rainy. The temperatures have ranged from the low 40's at night to low 70's for the highs. Right now on the front porch of my single wide it is 42 degrees and the skies are robins egg blue. If I get all the honey do's done early......I'm going to slip out to my deer stand along about 4:00. I may even take a gun.

I've heard about yall's gun laws up there, and I"m guessing that the Gov. would prefer that you had no guns at all. Which makes no sense at all. If no guns were allowed in the country it would kill you hunting industry, and Canadas hunting industry is major business. It brings in a lot of money, makes jobs, feeds people, and it's just plain fun. Why would the Gov shoot themselves in the foot by not permiting guns in the country.

I"m really very fortunate to live in Mississippi as far as gun laws go..Our laws are fairly senseable. We have open carry here and no permit required, and concealed carry permits are easy to get. I do have my concealed carry permit and do so at all times.
