How's the dominion 7.62x39?

My XCR mags hate it. They run much better with ammo that has a lacquer finish. The bare steel case drags in the XCR mags. The ammo is amazingly accurate out of my NEA-39.

Last night oddly enough I was having some fun with my collet bullet puller and I yanked out a LCW Dominion HP and a Romanian 1972 issue Steel Core FMJ Surplus round (the ones that are sealed around the case neck and the bullet with a red sealant). Both had IDENTICAL powder in the exact same weights to the tenth of a grain which I did find interesting. The Dominion bullet was a HP Boat Tail but with an exposed lead base where the jacket cups around the boat tail. Looked to be well made. Neither have a cannelure.

I have fired off 5 cases and have yet to have a FTF in either of the FMJ or HP varieties. I prefer the HP, but for no particilar reason. Also, the Domminion FMJ do not expand when entering and exiting fresh pine. the HP do expand roughly 50% but still penetrate substantially. I have wanted to do phone book testing but havent gotten around to it.

My shooting partner and I have gone through 1000 and had zero issues. We're shooting Windham ARs, though we've installed heavy hammer springs and extended x39 firing pins to eat surplus ammo.

Have only shot a few hundred round but very clean compared to other milsurp. Sks loves it gets 5" groups at 100, bolt action loves it even more gets 1" groups at 100 very good ammo very consistent. Almost as accurate as hornady but 1/4 the price. If anyone as any more details on the terminal ballistics of the hp please share them.

I've fired almost 5000 rounds of this stuff. Very clean. Pretty accurate. I even have the hollow point stuff for varmint control. And, I've only had one fail to fire in the whole lot. Very nice quality.
