Just wondering. I hope it's that nifty metal plug that goes in the follower spring and not some hackjob like a crossbolt or rivet through the magazine body and floorplate. Anybody know how they're doing them???
Too bad fixed magazines didn't get a pass on the 5 round rule.
Thanks for the info.

WHo does it, the exporter or the distributor? I sure hope there isn't a hackjob like a crossbolt jammed through it. The other Sino-soviet I have has the metal limiter in the mag spring, hopefully these will too. I hate to have something hacked and bubba'ed and showing up on the outside make the gun look un-original.

I think the mags would have to be done prior to import. Is it a prohibited 10 rd mag if dissasembled from the carbine? I'm hoping we don't wind up with a bunch of mismatched mag SKS here.

If you are talking SIR as in the store, now cabela's , they imported them riveted (last bunch any way) I live in MB and know the Manager and most of the staff. (I spend over a K a month in there)

did the manager tell you when the first shipment arriving ? and how many shipements ? and quantity in each shipments ?

care to share the insider info? :D

first shipment supposed to be there in next couple of weeks, 60 pieces ALL SOLD, they went so fast i was told that they ordered another 60 to be here sometime in early fall , prob in sept, that was all they could tell me I am putting down 25% to reserve one when they come in , although i don't know why I just bought one from on here :) I guess when you spend the kind of $ i spend in there they tend to try to keep you happier than most folks :) Sine last nov i have spent close to 8k in there

My only prob with SIR/Cabela's is when it was SIR i find they put stuff in their catalogue, then when you go in as little as 2 days after you get the catalogue, they tell you they are sold out, and try to point you in the direction of a more expensive item, to me that is bait and switch ! they have been saying for ages about the sks's and i am beginning to wonder if it's all to get you in and sucker you to buying something else, but ! i must say since becoming Cabela's I see poitive changes happeneing there < I hope it continues>

60?! .... I thought at least they were getting hundreds...

no idea , i asked ,they looked on the 'puter ,and told me 60 for first shipment, all sold , so they ordered 60 more and expected sometime in early fall most likely sept. the clerks/clowns behind the counter have no clue of jack (well ,some of them) they will tell you anything to get you back, that is changing tho, remember , no longer SIR is Cabela's now , and cabela's doesn't piss around, so lets hope it works out as they told me. I want one too , even tho i just bought one i want another, so i'm putting my deposit down next week and crossing my fingers

I sure hope that is not the case, , i've heard so many stories myself and wqhen i asked i even said , "are they actually going to come in or is it all a croack " and they told me what I told you , i'm gonna be soooooooo seriously pissed if that is not the case ( I have a friend in cabela's HQ in nebraska, who will hear about it if i got snowed )
