Howto finish a Lee Enfield Stock

Lee Valley sells 2 brands of Danish oil. Their Deftoil brand of Danish oil is tung oil with urethane resin. I have a can of that. Their Tried & True brand consists of Original Wood Finish, which is polymerized linseed oil with beeswax (I have a can of that too). But it appears that Tried & True also has Danish Oil, which is polymerized linseed oil with no additives.

For normal maintenance applications a couple times a year I use Grumbacher linseed oil available at artist supply shops. A small 2.5 ounce bottle goes a long way. About $12 a bottle. Very pure and light coloured.

If I needed a large quantity of either boiled or raw linseed oil to soak a stock in, I'd go to Home Depot or similar and buy it there. Recochem sells for about $12 a litre. A fair bit darker than the Grumbacher stuff.
