HP9-1 Porting Hole Size???

Hey all,
So I've been thinking of porting the barrel on my HP9-1.
I'd like to know the diameter of the holes on ported barreled shotguns.
My guess is about 1/8" but I'm not sure and how many holes to poke in the barrel on each side?
All barrel porting info is very much appreciated.

I was thinking about something similar to the porting on the Valtro PM-5's, but I don't have access to one.

From the two ported shotguns that I've handled (valtro and a custom 870) the individual ports seemed to be quite small... closer to 1/16'' than 1/8''. Here's a good photo w-w-w.valtrousa.com/pm5photopistolgripstockphotohuge.html

For trap and skeet use a #40 drill bit. (Small)

For combat shooting use a #31 bit. (Larger)

If you haven't got a jig, use an angle vise in a milling machine.
