hey been thinkin about getting an hp9 (18.5"), i was wondering if they have the same mag detents you have to remove for a mag extension, like remingtons have.

They do. The detents are easily removed, if you wish.

The da and HP9-1 is the same gun mande by the same people,and yes both have the remington style mag tube dimples.
i allways found that drillign them out worked better then swaging them out unless you have the right tools.

The gun is a good copy the rem 870.
New things to look at.
The finish is as bad if not worse the nthe rem 870 express, it will not last long and will rust by its self , may want to think about havign it refinished as soon as you can.
The plastic stocks are super heavy and very slippy, dump them as soon as you get them.
The follower has to be changed, it will fail on you for sure.

ok sweet no problem. i'm looking at using a choate mag extension - recommended? i'm guessing the ATI ones are junk
