HR 22 Mag 4" grouping @ 25 yrds

Hello there, I own a HR 22 mag semi auto about 25 yrs old, never did any serious shooting/sighting in with it that I can remember so it came a big surprise to me when I benched sighted it my grouping were 4"@25yrds. After some tips I took it over to a gunsmith and he tells me that their is nothing that he can see that is causing it and said that is normal and then offered me $75 for it. Any advice on what it can be? I have been using that Dyna Point bullet from Walmart (7.50 a box of 50).

Make sure all the stock and sight screws are tight and change ammo. It could be that your rifle just doesn't like that ammo. As with all rimfires, you have to try a box of as many brands of ammo as you can to find the ammo your rifle shoots best. The cost of said ammo means nothing either. Dyna Point ammo is low end Winchester. They do make higher quality .22 mag ammo too, but there are several other brands. You won't likely get it that cheap though.
