would some one please tell me how accurate hr and nef rifles in 270 and 25-06 are at 100yards. is there any defects in these litle guns a fellow should no before purchase one. is hr or nef which one is the better made. thank you guys and girls.

I used to have .223, would shoot 1" at 100yds all day long. H&R and NEF are the exact same gun made at the same factory so don't worry about which brand you get. they will be identical.

I have heard of some handi's having extraction problems, but mine was flawless.

I had one in .45-70 and it would clover leaf all day, had another in .22 hornet (later a K hornet) which wouldn't do better than 1 1/2". Seen others at their best at 2 1/2" but could have been the shooter.

I've heard that some of them break open after being fired, and they should not until you hit the open lever. The only one I owned did this. I did shoot very well however.

I have 3 right now.
all 3 are tack drivers
my SB2 in .270 will make a ragged hole of 3 @ 100 if I let it...
when I sighted it in @ 30 it made 1 hole with some fairly warm handloads.
Never had one open after being shot and I have owned several.

my 3006 was great. i think people confuse them with the old single shot shotguns that had a spring loaded forearm. i had one and it would pop off all the time. the nef is screwed on, and i never had a problem with it.
