So there I was, bought a new Benelli Nova. Took it apart, oiled it lightly and took it to the swamp to shoot some ducks. It performed flawlessly. Took it home, cleaned it again cuz it was fairly damp.

The next time I took it out to shoot, it wouldn't reload rounds when I pump the action. They are failing to feed from the mag tube. It's effectively a one shot gun and I don't want to take it back, am I putting it back together wrong? I took it apart before and put it back together and it was fine so I'm not sure what the deal is. And no, I'm not short stroking it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!!!!

It sounds like you activated the little switch under forend that activates the magazine interuptor.... This feature allows you to switch the round in the chamber without feeding one out of the magazine.... If it isn't obvious, check your manual...

No it's definitely not that. I've reassembled it a couple times. Sometimes it's extracting the round from the tube but it won't feed it up into the chamber. It's something with the feed ramp

I think I know what you are talking about...
1.the empty shell ejects..
2. the new round comes out of the magazine tube
3. BUT the shell lifter does NOT lift the round up in line with the bolt to be feed into the chamber

a guy I was hunting with once had a Nova that was doing this
I am not sure what he did to fix it...It may very well be that it was assembeled wrong...let us know what you find out

My buddies did that while hunting. He was so pissed he hit it against a tree. Worked good after that
He now shoots a mossberg. Sounds like the arms of the lifter arnt in correct placement. Take it apart again and reassemble

Take it to the store and get a real gun smiths opinion he will decide if it's bad or if it's just you.

Going from a benelli to a mossberg? Brutal. I bought the thing to replace my mossberg, but I just ended up taking it back, I guess I got the Friday 430pm Edition. Didn't want to deal with shipping it back and waiting for it.

Sorry for the late reply and thanks for the help guys.
