Just wondering if anyone knows what the best way is to remove the factory recoil pad on an HS precion Sporter 2000 SPL rifle.(.300 WIn Mag) The pad is very, very hard and I would like to replace it with a limb saver or Remingtoon R3. Also, does anyone know which pad fits best ????
Thanks in advance for any info,
R

To the top, anyone else have any ideas. I have heard if you freeze the stock the pads come off rather painlessly by tapping them with a rubber mallet. Just wondering if there is any truth to that?

You could try the freezing technique and then move to the more agressive saw technique.

We carry limsavers and Decellerator pads.

I'd have to check, but I believe it would be a custom fit..

Try it. I have done a few and I used a bandsaw and a big disc, honest. They were glued on and this is the best way if you have to make a buck at it.

I use the same method as Ian, and have done many pad changes on synthetic stocks, although no HS Precisions....
