I just thought I would share a good experience with HS Precision. Call me a deviant but I enjoy testing manufacturers on their warranties to see if they are good to go or if they are crap. Anyway, I picked up an Remington 700 LTR DM which was essentially new but dinged up (Demo model). There were a number of chips from where the stock was handled and after my messed up attempt to stick on a Limbsaver recoil pad I decided to see if HS Precision would sort out the stock. When I called them to see what they could do, they just told me to send the stock back to them and that they would re-furbish it to new condition. They did charge me for the work (80 bucks) but they re-fitted the recoil pad sanded it down to match the contour of the stock, fixed all the chips (there were a few of them all over the stock), fixed the swivel studs, and re-painted the stock, at no extra cost they gave me a nice Olive/Black Webbing (I kind of like the look of the XCR). Anyway, it was gone for about a month and I picked it up today from the post office. I was pretty impressed with the work on a stock that easily must be 8-9 years old and probably not even under warranty from them - (it is a factory LTR stock with no markings from HS Precision) and I don't think they even make this one anymore as the DM was a really short run... It's good to know that some companies still take care of their customers.

Here is a pic of the returned stock:

It is not apparent in the photos but the stock was pretty dinged up and I forgot to mention painted. Besides the chips on the stock, it had a gap in the area between the recoil pad and the stock where the fit wasn't perfect. The sling studs were pretty messed up too (driven too far in) which made some pretty ugly indentations into the stock. It looks pretty much new and they fixed up the recoil pad too - the fit wasn't perfect...
