Since all the Sask hunting forums are shut down?

Does anyone know a place to get an Elk hung in or around Hudson Bay, Preecville, Endeavour or Porcupine Plain?

I know there is pee paw outfitters but last I heard he wants $400 to hang/cut up meat.

Used to use Bruce in Hudson Bay but he is not cutting and wrapping anymorešŸ˜•.

i think the butchers in porcupine plain does game.
there is one just south of tisdale at Mckague
also hutterites at star city
and another just south of melfort called hodgsons

the prices normally are
95c cut and wrapped a pound
50 to skin
30 for head disposal
$1 lb grinding
10 a day for hanging
there could be a charge for gutting also with some
and hodgsons charges 30 to open his doors after 5.30pm

Norm in Porcupine does wild game, Vaughan's meats is the business name. Just give him a call and let him know once you have your animal down. He used to come in after hours for drop off of elk, but I am not sure if he still is or not anymore.

FYI for anyone heading out porcupine way

from crooked river to the otherside of porcupine the hard cereal crops have been straight combined
the canola has mostly been swarthed and by the colour of it ready to be combined
fields of alfalfa are still standing green
there is a few fields of baled oats and a few fields of standing oats still.
this is what i observed today.

temps are looking at high 20's for the next week and its dryer than a nun's vejayjay out that way

I've never understood paying someone hundreds of dollars to butcher an animal. Sure it takes some time, but if you quarter it in the field then it's only a days work at best. I guess some people have more money than time.... And I guess most people don't have a best friend managing the meat department of a grocery store either though. Lol

its not just cutting....you need a cooler to hang meat...especially when your 5 hours from home and its almost 30 deg ...

I was 5 hours from home when I shot my bear last week. Quartered, into coolers, drove home, put it in my fridge, butchered it the next day. Now obviously an elk is bigger than a small bear, but it's certainly doable... And the cost of an extra fridge is nothing compared to yearly butcher bills...
