HUGE Federal/American Eagle Shipment Has Landed - XM80, 223 Cans, 22LR, 50BMG, more!

how does the federal lake city 7.62 compare against the hurtzenberger surplus hitting canada right now? They're about the same price, but since when is surplus more expensive than fresh ammo???

Does the X in the XM80c stand for "reject" like it does with the XM33 for the 50?

The "X" is for overruns or ammo that does not meet specs. No way of knowing. Some M80 ammo have a longer OAL & don't pass the GO. They get labeled field reject and sold straight from Lake City has XM to civilian. Some match chambers will not like it & the ammo or fired case will get stuck on a closed bolt. PITA to remove the empty from the rifle...

It will be 40 round boxes and 400 round bricks been that way for years with American eagle rimfire. Always thought it was strange when the standard was 50/500

I'm hoping it's the 500 as it showed, last time I missed the AE and got Winchester in its place even though I check out with AE. This time i'll be 1000 rds short.

I would hope that they honor what they advertised. Your receipt should say so many 500RND bricks. If they send you 400RND bricks , no problem as long as they send the total number of rounds that you paid for.

If they do not send the total rounds that you paid for, then it is a "bait and switch" - a fraud. You have legal and other recourse ... RCMP, small claims court, Better Business Bureau, etc.

Of course if the business is reputable, they will send you what you paid for based on what they advertised.

The price of 400 round Hollow Point bricks are usually the same price as 500 round solid bricks anyway, So you not loosing money, just losing rounds

I just got out to try the new Hurtzenberger surplus i picked up. It is the nicest surplus I've seen; however, down my savage 10 it grouped the same. I only got to put 10 rounds of the Hurtz through my savage, but have about 40 rounds of the XM80 down the pipe and have 1/4" groups with it at 100yards.
The XM80 blew my socks off with its accuracy. Shame it got so expensive over 2 months time. Im sure the Hurtz will group just as well once I get a solid day in at the range.

short end of it: XM80 is amazingly accurate. 1/4" groups at 100 yards through my Savage 10. You wont be disappointed if you go this route.
3 shot group:

picture above is the last group I shot. You can see it in the top right hand corner of the below. This was first time out with my rifle (after sighting it in a previous day) so I was stoked to see the shots close in to that final grouping. Speaks volume to accuracy of the rifle and ammunition:

The hell is this?

I ordered the 500rnd .22's from Wanstalls and now the same link is showing 400rnds? Did we who ordered early just get shafted?

AE red box .22 has only ever been 400 rounds to a brick. I suspect the original post stating 500 was a typo. But I could be wrong...

It was a typo, The hollow point has been in 400 rounds bricks for the last 10+ years and the 40gr solids came in 500 rounds bricks, they did this to keep cost the same on both types of ammunition

anyone else gets 25$ shipping quote on their invoice? link to the Federal 1000RND Can 55GR FMJ .223REM clearly says "$10 flat rate shipping nationwide!". I left a note to correct it as advertised but I guess we'll see...

You bet...i'll refund your card $15 for the difference...It will be $25 flat rate moving forward!!

Thanks,

Gary

Hmm well my receipt shows "AE5022 American Eagle 500RND Brick 40GR LFN .22LR" X 10. Scheduled to arrive today.

Same with mine. If we get the 400rnd bricks, I think there's grounds for a massive complaint. 100rnds in an ammo typo is a big deal. The ad and the photo showed 500rnds, which is what I paid and expect to receive.

Gary, any word on this?
