There are some wharf rats close to that size in St John's harbour.

I have seen them close to this size outside of a fishplant before (and inside come to think of it). Just keep wolfin down those fish sticks

OMG I thought the one I tried to run over last week early one morning on my way to work was huge but that takes the gold medal! My fathers says my Great Grandfather ( Herman James Good V.C) used to talk about rats as big as dogs in the trenches eating the bodies of his dead comrades and the enemy soldiers alike during WW1. Must have been something to have rats like that one in the pic living with you in a muddy trench!!
