Has anyone ever hunted waterfoul in this marsh before? I took a drive there this past weekend and it seams like a great place to hunt, just not sure how busy it will be in the fall.

I have hunted there quite a bit. Opening day, and the week following are pretty good until the birds wise up. There are two sanctuaries on the property, and they eventually congregate there, flying about 200-300 yards up, then helicoptering in to the sanctuaries. Mid November to Mid Dec. is probably the best time to hunt up there, when the Northern birds arrive. Not so many hunters, cause it is so cold, and usually have to bust ice at the stake you choose. Did you pick up a Booklet out of one of the boxes? They go into detail what stakes are where, and a ton of other good info.

Hullet is a great area....but popular. Opening weekend is crazy busy. I have never hunted opening week but you have to get in line in a special area on the Friday for a chance to get a blind or something like that.
If you have the $ you can pay for a guided hunt which gives you an exclusive area.
Like 7.62 says it's better later in the season after the cold weather up north pushes the birds south.

Good food over at "Kate's Station Restaurant" on highway 4. It hits the spot after a cold hunt.

The booklet that Hullet puts out has lots of great info and a very useful map. The numbered blinds/stakes are GPS listed.

They release pheasants in area B.
